Guys I got a Macbook!
And it’s a little bit sad, because I had to because my beloved Lenovo Legion 5 Pro is slowly dying. I had to send it in for repairs about a month ago, and even still its touchpad isn’t working. But it’s okay aside from that, I think. It’s only about 3 years old so I should get another 3-5 years out of it before it goes and fully dies on me.
The issue is that in order to get the touchpad fixed before it’s entirely out of warranty I need to send it in by June 1st, and that will be when I’m gone on my study abroad, and I kinda need my laptop then.
I have considered a macbook for a while, as a daily driver for school/work. For just about everything that’s not gaming it works great. And since I do enjoy gaming, once I’ve got the cash I want to build a nice desktop gaming rig. And now, given the circumstances, I’ve ended up with a 13” Macbook air. And it’s pretty nice. Frankly I’m very impressed with the battery life, especially coming from my behemoth of a gaming laptop that cries if it’s not constantly plugged in.
I’m still getting used to a lot of things, like the command vs. control button thing, which bothered me so much I changed them in settings. So it’ll be a learning process I’m sure, but it also seems to be working pretty darn well so far. As much as I’m prone to hate on Macs or Apple, the Apple ecosystem is pretty darn nice.
